Hello, friends! I have an extra special post for you today, one that is actually quite near and dear to my heart. Those of you have been following me for a while may remember me mentioning that (for one of my jobs) I work at an all-things-animal-related production house with a YouTube channel called Pet World Insider. We produce content related to pets and animals for all of you pet parents out there (check it out!). The subject of today’s post, however, is one of our recent projects that I am extremely proud of – our first mini-documentary series that we’ve dubbed “Reptile Adventure in Thailand.”
Above is the amazingly cinematic trailer that Derek (a.k.a. “The Boyfriend”) put together to introduce the series and give a sneak peek of what you will be seeing throughout the miniseries. The reason this project is so near and dear to my heart is because we’ve worked so hard on it, and that hard work has paid off! The last episode (episode 2), which I edited went viral and had over half a million views practically over night! We were thrilled, elated, overjoyed! And now the third episode is being released tomorrow – eeks!
The first episode also skyrocketed in views from the success of the second episode, so you can watch that, too, above. This episode introduces Dan Mulleary, the star of the documentary, who traveled with his wife to search out exotic reptiles, and provides an overview of their trek through Thailand.
Dan is an expert in the field of reptiles, and snakes in particular, and travels to Southeast Asia every year and last year we were fortunate enough to get to work with him. We sent him and his wife to Thailand with some of our camera equipment and instructions on what and how to film for this documentary. They brought us back some of the most amazing raw footage that we are now tasked with editing into a series.
I have to warn you that if you are not a fan of anything creepy crawly, or of snakes in particular, this may not be the series for you; but, please, please at least watch the trailer because the scenery and countryside of Thailand are absolutely gorgeous and definitely worth seeing. And if you think you are brave enough, I definitely recommend you watch Episode 2 – above – because, my personal bias aside, it is fascinating to see such amazing creatures up close and in the wild.
The next episode in the series premieres tomorrow and while I am a little nervous about its debut, I couldn’t be more proud to be a part of such an amazing and fun project. I promise to update tomorrow with the latest installment and please let me know if you like the series (or if you have any suggestions) because we are still working on pumping out the rest of episodes and we’d love to know what you think and get some feedback!
As always, thanks for reading :) Kristi
